Board of County Commissioners Approve New Business Leader

HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 24, 2019) – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Horowitz as Business Leader in the Department of Business Development. Mr. Horowitz begins his position effective June 24, 2019.

Jonathan comes from a sixteen-year career in business consisting of roles in management, business development, brand management, executive strategy and product development. Jonathan was most recently teaching courses at Hagerstown Community College as an adjunct professor.

Jonathan brings with him an extensive and varied business acumen developed through working at local, regional, and international businesses. A 2002 Psychology degree from Frostburg State University led him on a pursuit of education via an MBA from the University of Maryland University College and his current work as a doctoral student at Frostburg State University in the field of education.  He is currently a member of the International Economic Development Association and the Maryland Economic Development Association.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to facilitate economic growth in Washington County as the new Business Leader. I look forward to assisting the business leaders and entrepreneurs of the County to cultivate smart growth for all of our citizens,” said Jonathan Horowitz.

Jonathan currently resides in the city of Hagerstown with his wife Trisha. Most of his spare time is spent on research for his dissertation and helping Trisha with her non-profit animal rescue. Jonathan enjoys playing guitar and working on his old Datsun Z-cars.
