Washington County is dedicated to giving back through unity, service, and support. We partner with nonprofits, local businesses, and volunteers to improve quality of life, promote education, and drive economic growth. From community outreach and sustainability efforts to supporting vulnerable populations, we’re committed to building a stronger, more inclusive county.
The Day of Caring is Washington County, MD’s largest single-day community service event. With support from local businesses, individuals, and partners, around 1,000 volunteers come together to make a meaningful impact.
The Washington County Ice Cream Trail is a fun-filled journey showcasing the best local ice cream spots. Ice cream lovers of all ages can explore unique flavors while supporting small businesses along the way.
The Emergency Preparedness Expo is crucial to our community’s safety and resilience. By providing resources, live demonstrations, and hands-on training, we help residents gain the skills and knowledge needed to handle emergencies with confidence. This event helps ensure that our community is better equipped to face challenges and support each other in times of need.
Washington County’s Employee Giving Campaign is an opportunity for employees to give back and support local charities. To streamline giving, we’ve partnered with United Way of Washington County, MD, ensuring 100% of your donation goes directly to the charities you choose. Full-time employees who participate can earn Charity Leave based on their donation amount.
Beyond these events, we’re committed to year-round community service, including blood drives, stream cleanups, and tree planting initiatives. Join us in making Washington County a better place for all.
