HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 6, 2019) – Washington County Transit (WCT) announces the launch of a new mobile application, RouteShout 2.0. The free app is available for all fixed-routes allowing riders to easily track transit buses using a smartphone. In addition to tracking buses, transit riders can use the “Locate Me” GPS function within RouteShout 2.0 to determine the closest bus stop and save favorite routes and stops for quick look-ups.

This app will allow WCT riders to conveniently plan trips, reduce wait times at bus stops, and receive notification of certain schedule or route changes in real-time. RouteShout is compatible with iPhone and Android smartphones and tablets. To start your journey to mobility, download the app on Apple iTunes or Google Play.

“WCT is very excited to offer this tool to our riders,” says Andrew Eshleman, Director of Public Works. “We want to provide all our fixed route transit riders with the latest technology so they can be aware of real time bus locations and expected arrival times. This will help riders to better plan their day and reduce curbside wait times.”

The RouteShout 2.0 traveler information system is provided by Routematch Software, an Atlanta based transit technology company that works extensively with transit agencies.
