Washington County Government Closed for New Year’s Holiday

HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 26, 2019) – In observance of the New Year’s holiday, Washington County Government offices will close at noon on Monday, December 30, 2019 and remain closed through Wednesday, January 1, 2020. County services will operate as listed below:
  • The Hagerstown Regional Airport terminal and airfield will operate during regularly scheduled business hours. Administrative offices and the maintenance department will be closed.
  • All services at Forty West Landfill and all other transfer stations will operate on the following schedule:
  • Monday, December 30 – Normal operating hours
  • Tuesday, December 31 – Closed
  • Wednesday, January 1 – Closed
  • Thursday, January 2 – Normal operating hours
  • Washington County Transit Services will operate on the following schedule:
  • Monday, December 30 – Normal transit schedule
  • Tuesday, December 31 – Closing at 7:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, January 1 – Closed
  • Thursday January 2 – Normal transit schedule
  • Essential public safety services will remain in effect.

LIBERAL LEAVE IS IN EFFECT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
