Washington County Board of Elections Hosts Open House for National Poll Worker Recruitment Day

HAGERSTOWN, MD (July 29, 2024) – The Washington County Board of Elections is excited to announce its first Open House in celebration of National Poll Worker Recruitment Day. The event will occur on Thursday, August 1, 2024, between 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Election Center at 17718 Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

This open house aims to provide valuable information to those interested in participating as poll workers and anyone interested in the election process. A few current election judges, along with our dedicated staff, will be available to answer questions and offer demonstrations using a poll book, a ballot marking device, and a scanning unit. This hands-on opportunity will give attendees insight into how Election Day typically operates and the responsibilities of an election judge.

If you are curious about the election process, want to understand more about how Election Day functions, or are considering becoming an election judge, we encourage you to join us on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Your participation is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our elections.
