Washington County Announces Additional Economic Relief for Restaurants & Hotel and Lodging Providers

HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 30, 2020) – Per Governor Hogan’s recent announcement of additional economic relief, the Washington County Department of Business Development announces two new grant programs that will launch in 2021. These grant programs will be focused on 1) hotel and lodging providers and 2) restaurants.

The number of funds available for each program is:

  • Hotel and Lodging Providers: $581,461
  • Additional Restaurant Relief: $811,338

Applications for both programs are expected to go live in January 2021 and will be posted at www.washcorises.net. Communications will also be sent out via email and posted to the Washington County Government social media pages when the application is released to the public.

Due to limited funding, applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applicants are strongly encouraged to email their application or to drop it off at the County Administration Building. Please be sure the application is fully complete, as only completed applications will be accepted and reviewed.

To enable funding to reach a wider range of restaurants, we are unable to provide funding to those restaurants that have already been awarded through the restaurant relief program that was released on November 4, 2020.

Washington County Department of Business Development and the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) encourages business owners to look up their business’ status on Maryland Business Express to ensure they are in Good Standing with the state, and if not, to follow the steps in this Good Standing Checklist to avoid disqualification from the programs.
