TRAFFIC ALERT: Temporary Closure of Crystal Falls Drive Under I-70 for Bridge Project

HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 23, 2024) – The Washington County Highway Department announces the temporary closure of Crystal Falls Drive under I-70 starting June 7, 2024, to facilitate the bridge project on I-70.

During this period, a detour will be in place to ensure the safety and convenience of all motorists. The detour will remain active while the work is being performed and will be lifted as soon as the project is complete. We will provide updates as soon as the detour is no longer needed.

Detour Directions:

  • Southbound Traffic on Crystal Falls Drive: Motorists will follow detour signs to Ridenour Road, continue onto Stottlemeyer Road, and then proceed to US 40.
  • Eastbound Traffic on US 40 Heading to Crystal Falls Drive North: Motorists will be detoured to Stottlemeyer Road, continue onto Ridenour Road, and then proceed to Crystal Falls Drive.

Detour signs will be placed on Crystal Falls Drive, indicating “Road Closed Ahead” and “Local Traffic Only” north and south of the bridge to guide motorists accordingly.
