Rise Up Business Stabilization Grant – Deadline Extended

HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 16, 2020) – The Washington County Department of Business Development announces the deadline to submit an application for the Rise Up Business Stabilization Grant has been extended until June 30, 2020. This grant encourages small businesses in Washington County, Maryland that meet the criteria to submit an application. Grant applications are accepted and funds are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
As of Tuesday, June 16, 2020, the County has processed 424 applications, with 111 grants awarded, totaling $1,091,233.35 distributed to local businesses.
Director of Business Development, Susan Small, said, “I am pleased to say that we will continue to offer the opportunity for Washington County businesses to apply for the Rise Up Business Stabilization Grant from the Federal CARES Act funding. Since we were unsure what the initial response would be, and we now have significant remaining funds, our team wants to make sure the businesses who need the money, get the money.”

Applications will be accepted electronically and can be downloaded at www.washcorises.net. Details for submission are stated on the application. The website also provides guidelines, application instructions, and answers to frequently asked questions.
The Department of Business Development has partnered with the City of Hagerstown Department of Community and Economic Development, to administer this grant program that is funded by the CARES Act. For specifics on terms and conditions of the grant program, please visit the Economic Recovery section at www.washcorises.net.
