Maryland Building Officials Association Awards Washington County Employee with the Inspector of the Year Award

HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 15, 2023) – On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, the Maryland Building Officials Association conducted their annual conference and awards ceremony. Washington County’s own Dave Kerns was awarded the Inspector of the Year award for the State of Maryland.

Dave Kerns has been employed with Washington County since 2011 and has been an inspector with the Division of Permits and Inspections since 2013. He is certified to conduct building inspections, mechanical inspections, and electrical inspections. Dave also owned a General Contractor company for 10 years before joining Washington County.

“Dave being named as the Inspector of the Year shows his commitment to Washington County and his dedication to performing his job at the highest level,” said Greg Cartrette, Director of Permits and Inspections/Code Official. “Dave is a valuable asset to our department and we are lucky to have him on our team.”
