Hagerstown Regional Airport Receives Funding from CARES Act

CARES Act
HAGERSTOWN, MD (April 17, 2020) – Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR) shared with the Board of County Commissioners on Thursday, April 16, 2020, that HGR was approved to receive funding from the CARES Act. The U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration allocated $1,126,907 to HGR, which will assist in paying operational expenses that have incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director of HGR, Garrison Plessinger, said, “We are very appreciative to receive assistance from the CARE Act. The Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration has allocated $1,126,907 to the Hagerstown Regional Airport. This will help pay some operational expenses this year such as payroll and utilities during the hard times COVID-19 has brought upon us.”
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed and signed into law on March 27, 2020. This economic relief package is a means of providing fast and direct economic assistance for American workers and families, small businesses, and preserving jobs for American industries that have been economically impacted by COVID-19.
