Fort Ritchie Contract Moves Forward

HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 3, 2020) – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners voted 3-2 to approve an amendment to the contract between the buyer, John W. Krumpotich, and the Board of County Commissioners for the sale of Fort Ritchie.
Krumpotich entered into the contract with the Board of County Commissioners on November 5, 2019. A first amendment was signed on January 16, 2020 which extended the buyer’s feasibility period to March 5, 2020 and the closing date to April 6, 2020. Both parties have been in negotiation about modifications to the amended agreement.
Modifications include roadways, utilities, lakes, and dams. In addition, there is an increase in purchase price from $1,712,500 to $1,850,000 and other commitments from Krumpotich.
The extended feasibility period and closing date will remain unchanged.
