COVID-19 Signage for Local Businesses

COVID-19 Business Occupancy sign
HAGERSTOWN, MD (July 16, 2020) – The Washington County Department of Business Development encourages local businesses to download and print the posters that are pictured above. All businesses are encouraged to post signage on the front door of their business.
Washington County Health Officer Earl Stoner stated in a press conference on Tuesday, “We owe it to our community to ensure that those that do go out can have the confidence in knowing that the businesses they are patronizing and the people they are encountering while they are out are looking out for their best interest. I am strongly reminding everyone that under Governor Hogan’s current order, it is required, not recommended, it is required, that face coverings be worn in these situations:
  • For customers over the age of 9 in any retail or food establishment
  • Staff and employees in all retail establishments while working in areas open to the general public and areas in which interactions with other staff and employees are likely
  • Staff and employees in food establishments who interact with customers including delivery personnel
  • Riders and operators on public transportation
  • All staff and employees of alcohol manufacturing or sales establishments
  • Personal services including salons, tanning, tattoos, massage parlors
  • Indoor and outdoor sports activities when feasible
  • Youth camps when feasible
  • Swimming pools when feasible”
