Closing Out Manufacturing Month in Washington County, MD

HAGERSTOWN, MD (October 31, 2024) – As the Washington County, MD Department of Business and Economic Development concludes Manufacturing Month in Washington County, MD, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our diverse and outstanding manufacturing community. Throughout October, we celebrated the importance of our local manufacturing sector with four inspiring videos showcasing just a small slice of our exceptional manufacturers and their products. These videos aimed to motivate the next generation of skilled workers and shine a spotlight on modern manufacturing.

A special thank you to Conagra Brands, Fives Landis Corp., Hub Labels, Inc., and IKO – Northeast for launching this video series which highlighted the incredible opportunities within our industry. Your contributions have showcased how manufacturing is not just vital but also an exciting career path that serves as the backbone of our community. We look to continue this series to showcase many more Washington County, MD manufacturers in the future.

The legacy of manufacturing in Washington County dates back to 1766, with pioneers like brothers Samuel and Daniel Hughes, who produced essential goods during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Their spirit of innovation continues to thrive today.

Let’s continue to celebrate the ingenuity and impact of manufacturing in our community. Thank you to all our manufacturers and all your dedicated employees for your hard work and commitment to our community!
