Washington County Government Closed for New Year’s Holiday

HAGERSTOWN, MD (DECEMBER 27, 2018) – In observance of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day,Washington County Government offices will be closed on Monday, December 31, 2018 and Tuesday, January 1, 2019. County services will operate as listed below:

  • The Hagerstown Regional Airport terminal and airfield will operate during regularly scheduled business hours. Administrative offices and the maintenance department will be closed.
  • Allegiant air services has a flight on Monday, December 31st, with an 8:33 a.m. arrival and a 9:18 a.m. departure. There are no flights on Tuesday, January 1st.
  • Southern Airways Express daily flights to Baltimore-Washington International and Pittsburgh International Airports will operate on schedule.
  • All services at Forty West Landfill and all other transfer stations will be closed on Monday, December 31st and Tuesday, January 1st. Services will resume on Wednesday, January 2nd.
  • Washington County Transit Services will close at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31st and remained closed through Tuesday, January 1st. All services will return to a regular operating schedule on Wednesday, January 2nd..

Essential public safety services will remain in effect.

LIBERAL LEAVE IS IN EFFECT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
