Board of County Commissioners Appoint New Purchasing Director

HAGERSTOWN, MD (November 18, 2024) – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce the appointment of Brandi Naugle as the new Director of Purchasing. With over two decades of dedicated service to the County, Brandi brings extensive expertise, leadership, and a proven track record of excellence in procurement and public service.

Brandi began her career with Washington County’s Purchasing Department in August 2003, steadily advancing through three positions within the department. Her commitment to fiscal responsibility, efficiency, and delivering exceptional service has been instrumental in the County’s success.

A proud Washington County native, Brandi earned an Associate of Business Administration from Hagerstown Community College (HCC) in 2020, where she now serves on the Board of Directors for the HCC Alumni Association. She furthered her education with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global College. Her academic achievements provide a strong foundation for her role in county government and her ability to manage diverse business functions.

Brandi’s career in procurement extends beyond public service, beginning as a Purchasing Agent in the private sector with a Washington County manufacturer. She holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), and Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP), reflecting her dedication to excellence in the procurement field.

A longstanding member of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and the Maryland Public Purchasing Association (MPPA), Brandi has served in numerous leadership and volunteer roles. Her contributions include terms as MPPA Vice President, President, and Immediate Past President, and her current role as Chair of Education and Development. She has been recognized with the 2011 MPPA Distinguished Service Award and the 2019 NIGP You Rock Award.

Brandi remains deeply engaged in the community, serving as an active member of the Hagerstown Women’s Club and continuing her involvement with HCC. She resides in Hagerstown with her fiancée and looks forward to bringing her passion and expertise to her new role as Director of Purchasing.

Washington County Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Kelcee Mace, praised Brandi’s promotion, stating:
