HAGERSTOWN, MD (September 28, 2021) – The Washington County Department of Business Development announces the Northeast SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education) Farmer Grant Program. The cap on this grant is $30,000 and grant applications are due by November 16, 2021.
The grant program is open to all commercial farm business owners and farm employees in the Northeast. Grant funds are used to pay for project-specific expenses, including your time to work on the project, supplies, materials, project-related services like testing and consulting, project-based travel, outreach expenses, and other project costs.
“This SARE Farmer Grant program is designed for farmers to explore new concepts in sustainable agriculture through new ideas and techniques. This is a competitive grant that targets well-designed objectives with the most community impact ” said Leslie Hart, Washington County Agricultural Business Specialist.
The Farmer Grant also requires a technical advisor to assist with feasibility and design. To see a listing of other past approved SARE grants, visit projects.sare.org.
