Application Now Open for Direct Relief for Restaurants Grant in Washington County

HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 12, 2021) – The Washington County Department of Business Development announces the application for the Direct Relief for Restaurants Grant is now open. The application can be accessed by clicking the button below.
 
Applications will be accepted from 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, or until funds have been exhausted. Applications will be accepted electronically and can be downloaded at www.washcorises.net. Details for submission are stated on the application. The website also provides guidelines, application instructions, and answers frequently asked questions.
 
The Direct Relief for Restaurants Grant program will award a total of $811,338 in individual grants up to a maximum of $20,000 each. This grant program is designed to assist local restaurants with operating expenses such as rent/mortgage payments, payroll, utilities, purchase of equipment and services to expand outdoor dining through physical improvements including tents, heaters, warmers, and carts, sanitization services, PPE purchases, technology to support carryout and delivery, and infrastructure improvements, including HVAC system upgrades.
 
Due to limited funding, applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applicants are strongly encouraged to email their completed application to [email protected] or to drop it off at the County Administration Building. Please be sure the application is fully complete, as only completed applications will be accepted and reviewed.
 
To enable funding to reach a wider range of restaurants, we are unable to provide funding to those restaurants that have already been awarded through the restaurant relief program that was released on November 4, 2020.
