Employee Appreciation Day
As one way to thank our dedicated employees, we host an annual appreciation event. This year, county employees enjoyed a night at Meritus Park to watch the Flying Boxcars play ball—a great evening of fun, camaraderie, and recognition for their hard work!

Spirit Weeks & Friendly Competitions
We bring employees together through spirit weeks, team-building competitions, and department challenges. From showcasing our cooking skills in the Chili Cook-Off to decking the halls in the Holiday Door Decorating Contest, these friendly competitions spark creativity and engagement.
Annual Events
In addition to workplace festivities, we host special events such as a New Year’s gathering to start the year on a positive note and a Day of Caring, where employees come together to give back to the community.
What I enjoy most about working for Washington County is the experience municipal government offers in terms of living, working, and playing in a vibrant and diverse community that you call home. Washington County Government provides a dynamic environment where I can immerse myself in my work while also having access to various recreational and cultural activities. The combination of career opportunities, quality of life, and sense of belonging within Washington County Government truly makes it a fulfilling and enriching place to be a part of.
Working for Washington County allows me to practice law close to home while serving my community. Every day is different, and I enjoy tackling legal challenges and helping colleagues understand the laws that shape their work. The best part of my job is seeing the impact of my work and collaborating with dedicated colleagues. A fun highlight was completing the Ice Cream Trail with my family—because who doesn’t love ice cream? For those considering public service, attending open meetings is a great way to start.
Since my internship with the Information Technology department, I knew that I wanted to, “Live, Work, & Play” in Washington County. Providing excellent customer service to hardworking staff, countywide, is how I give back to the County I was born and raised in. I have given back through initiatives such as the training of staff in software services such as Office365 products. Maintaining professional, friendly, working relationships with departments and staff is an uncompromising, priceless, experience. Never stop pursuing your dreams. If I had, I would not be here today.
My inspiration to want to work for Washington County came from the dedication that Washington County shows to want to better the community by hiring a well-rounded work force to help make the community a better place to work, live and play. I work with such amazing individuals that make my job enjoyable and a fun place to work. My position as a Deputy Treasurer at the Washington County Treasurer’s office has broadened my horizons with ample opportunities to help give back to communities within Washington County.
