Washington County Parks Closed for Season

HAGERSTOWN, MD (November 3, 2022) – The Washington County Parks and Recreation Department announces Washington County Parks are officially closed for the season. Visitors are encouraged to continue enjoying the parks. However, amenities will be limited. Parks will reopen on May 6, 2023.

Please be advised that restrooms will be closed with the exception of Marty Snook Park. The restrooms at the Little League area and the Guard Shack near the tennis courts will remain open. However, renovations will be occurring and availability may vary. Pavilion rentals during the off season will not be available and tables will be removed from most pavilions. Pavilion rentals for next season are being accepted. Water will also not be available at the dog park effective Monday, November 7, 2022.

LIBERAL LEAVE IS IN EFFECT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
