Western Maryland Consortium Unveils Reemployment Grant

HAGERSTOWN, MD (October 27, 2021) – The Washington County Department of Business Development is honored to partner with a local and regional workforce development organization, the Western Maryland Consortium, to announce a new grant opportunity.

The Western Maryland Consortium announced the Reemployment Grant is now available for companies in Washington, Allegany, and Garrett counties. The Reemployment Grant provides up to $25,000 to Western Maryland businesses to help reemploy workers most affected by the economic and employment fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. New hires must be unemployed residents of Western Maryland.

“Community businesses across Western Maryland continue to be impacted by the pandemic, and grant programs such as the Reemployment Grant will give them more leverage to supplement new hire wages,” said Linda Spence, Business Specialist with the Washington County Department of Business Development.
