HAGERSTOWN, MD (July 6, 2021) – The
Washington County Division of Emergency Services shares the following information on when to call 9-1-1 and what to expect when the call is made. It is important to note that 9-1-1 is an emergency phone, not a phone line for information. More than 25% of the calls received by 9-1-1 are called “inappropriate calls”, both to request some information, such as false or malicious reports. It is important to use it properly for the good of all.
For non-emergency police assistance, please call 240-313-4345.
