Department of Water Quality Receives Award from Environmental Protection Agency
HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 29, 2020) – The Washington County Department of Water Quality was recognized at the Board of County Commissioners meeting for receiving the Performance and Innovation in the State Revolving Fund Creating Environmental Success (PISCES) Award from the Environmental Protection Agency(EPA). Washington County received this award in recognition of innovative use of State Reveling Loan funding for the Conococheague Wastewater Treatment Plant Enhanced Nutrient Removal upgrade project.
This award demonstrates the Department of Water Quality’s commitment to public health, sustainability, and protection of the environment.
Jeremy Mose, director of the Division of Environmental Management, said, “Our team of dedicated professionals at the Division of Environmental Management work every day to improve the quality of life in Washington County. This award demonstrates our employee’s commitment to protecting public health and providing the best possible customer service for the citizens of Washington County.”
Accepting the award on behalf of the Department of Water Quality was Terry Wray, Mike Hyatt, Eric Bair, Ed Richards, Todd Green, Davina Yutzy, Mark Bradshaw, and Jeremy Mose. Not in attendance was Jeffery Whitacre.
