Parking Fee to be Introduced at Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR) in Early 2025

HAGERSTOWN, MD (October 22, 2024) – Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR) will introduce a new parking fee starting in early 2025, aimed at supporting the airport’s continued growth and enhanced services. Construction on the expanded parking facilities is set to begin in November 2024, with parking fee collection expected to begin in January/February 2025.

The parking fee will be $5 per day, with the first hour free, providing an affordable and convenient option for both short and long-term parking. The parking fee applies across all terminal lots, and payments can be made using credit or debit cards, as well as mobile payment options like Apple Pay and Google Wallet for added convenience.

Why the Parking Fee?

As HGR continues to experience substantial growth—highlighted by a 38% year-over-year increase in Allegiant flights—the parking fees will directly support the airport’s expanded parking facilities and improved services. With the recent doubling of the parking area, the fee will ensure that the airport can continue meeting the needs of passengers while maintaining security and operations.

The revenue from the parking fee will help fund critical services, including:

  • Law enforcement and emergency personnel support for each flight
  • Staffing and maintenance of the terminal
  • Future commercial air service improvements and development

Affordable, Convenient, and Competitive

HGR’s parking costs remain significantly lower than other regional airports, where rates can climb as high as $32 per day. Even from the farthest parking spot, passengers will enjoy a short walk to the terminal. Additionally, the parking lot is open to the general public, including commuters, making it a practical option for anyone seeking secure parking.

A Fee with Benefits

This parking fee not only helps sustain current operations but also positions HGR for future growth. By investing in HGR, passengers and visitors are contributing to the expansion of air service offerings, ensuring that more flight options and destinations may become available in the future.
