Date: Monday, September 16, 2024
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Washington County Free Library – 100 S. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740, Community Room (308/309)
Livestream: Washington County Government Facebook Page
The Town Hall Meeting is organized in response to growing concerns from City residents, business owners, visitors, and County residents and business owners who work in or frequent the City of Hagerstown. While the City Council has held multiple meetings to discuss these issues, there has been limited direct engagement with the broader community. This Town Hall aims to provide a platform for residents, visitors, and business owners to express their concerns and propose potential solutions.
Key Details of the Meeting:
- Invitees to the panel include representatives from the County, City, and State levels of government and includes members of the Washington County Commissioners and Hagerstown City Council, Senator Corderman, Delegate Grossman, and the Administrators of both the County and City. At the time of this release, for a variety of reasons, the five members of the Hagerstown City Council have advised they will not be participating in this conversation.
- This Town Hall is designed as a forum for public input rather than a Q&A session. Attendees will have the opportunity to voice their concerns and suggestions. The forum will focus on listening rather than debate. Each speaker will be allotted 3 minutes to ensure that as many voices as possible are heard.
- The meeting will provide a unique opportunity for residents, visitors, and businesses to directly address their government representatives, offer ideas and provide feedback on how to address the ongoing public safety challenges within the City of Hagerstown and Washington County.
- In addition to being livestreamed, the meeting will be recorded and made available for future reference to ensure full transparency.
Washington County Government and Senator Corderman’s office encourage all interested residents, business owners, and community members and visitors to attend and participate in this important discussion.
