Board of County Commissioners Appoint New Director of Transit

HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 3, 2024) – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is excited to announce the appointment of Anthony Napoli as the new Transit Director. With a rich background in public transit and a decade of experience spanning various roles, Anthony brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for transportation to Washington County.

Anthony Napoli is well-acquainted with the world of public transit, having worked at various levels within the industry. His journey began as a driver and operator, roles which gave him invaluable insights into the daily operations and challenges of transit services. He then advanced to positions such as safety manager, trainer, and dispatcher, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted nature of public transportation.

Throughout his career, Anthony has collaborated with several prominent state agencies and organizations, including NJ State Agencies, State Transit, Somerville County, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. These experiences have equipped him with the skills and expertise necessary to lead Washington County’s transportation division towards growth and excellence.

“I am thrilled to join the Washington County team and look forward to expanding and enhancing our transportation services,” said Napoli. “My goal is to ensure that our transit system is efficient, safe, and meets the needs of our community. I am committed to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the department.”
