Washington County Transit Announces Toys For Tots Collection Drive to Spread Holiday Cheer

HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 2, 2024) – In the spirit of the holiday season, the Washington County Transit (WCT) is proud to announce its participation in the annual Toys For Tots Collection Drive. From December 12th through December 18th, WCT invites the community to join in making a difference in the lives of local children by donating new, unwrapped toys. Passengers boarding WCT buses can donate toys in exchange for their fare, turning each ride into an opportunity to give back to those in need.

As a vital part of the Washington County community, WCT is committed to supporting our neighbors and ensuring that every child has a reason to smile this holiday season. The Toys For Tots program, operated by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, helps distribute toys to local families, fostering hope and joy for children who may otherwise go without during the holidays.

Donation Locations:

  • On any Washington County Transit bus during regular business hours
  • Administrative Office & Maintenance Garage:

1000 West Washington Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

WCT kindly asks for new, unwrapped toys suitable for children of all ages. Popular items include action figures, dolls, educational games, and sports equipment. Friends, families, and coworkers are encouraged to come together and support this worthy cause.

“We believe in the power of community and the joy of giving,” said Connor Shank, Communications & Outreach Manager of Washington County Transit. “This collection drive is an opportunity for us all to come together and ensure that every child experiences the magic of the holiday season. Every donation counts, and we are grateful for the support of our community.”

Washington County Transit is dedicated to providing safe, affordable, dependable, and accessible public transportation while fostering a sense of community. This holiday season, WCT is proud to support local families through this meaningful initiative.
