Washington County Government Closed for Thanksgiving

HAGERSTOWN, MD (November 20, 2023) – In observance of Thanksgiving, Washington County Government offices will be closed beginning at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 and remain closed through Thursday, November 23, 2023, and Friday, November 24, 2023. County services will operate as listed below:

  • The Hagerstown Regional Airport administrative offices and the maintenance department will be closed starting at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, and re-open on Monday, November 27, 2023.
  • Airport Terminal Operating Hours:
    • November 22: 6:00 am – 10:00 pm
    • November 23: CLOSED
    • November 24: 6:00 am – 4:00 pm
    • November 25: 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
    • November 26: 7:00 am – 10:00 pm
    • November 27: 6:00 am – 5:30 pm
  • Allegiant Air services will continue as scheduled:
    • November 22: 8:25 pm arrival and 9:15 pm departure for flights to Orlando/Sanford International Airport (SFB)
    • November 25: 8:29 am arrival and 9:19 am departure for flights to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)
    • November 26: 8:37 pm arrival and 9:27 pm departure for flights to Orlando/Sanford International Airport (SFB)
    • November 27: 2:52 pm arrival and 3:42 pm departure for flights to Orlando/Sanford International Airport (SFB)
  • All services at Forty West Landfill and all other transfer stations will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2023, and Friday, November 24, 2023. Services will resume on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
  • Essential public safety services will remain in effect.

LIBERAL LEAVE IS IN EFFECT FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Liberal leave is in effect for all non-essential personal on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, until noon. Essential personnel are expected to fulfill their duties as usual.

The starting time for today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting will be reevaluated at 9:00 am.

For those required to travel, exercise caution on the roadways. If driving is necessary, ensure your vehicle is completely cleared, drive at a reduced speed, practice caution, and avoid crowding or passing plows.
