Washington County Government FY2020 Goals and FY2019 Accomplishments

Washington County Government FY2020 Goals and FY2019 Accomplishments

HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 26, 2019) – County Administrator Rob Slocum presented Washington County Government FY2020 Goals and FY2019 Accomplishments to the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. The purpose of presenting goals and accomplishments before the Board establishes a clear direction and stimulates a charge for staff to operate effectively and efficiently with County resources.

County Administrator Slocum says, “Our county staff and elected the elected officials deserve recognition for a variety accomplishments in fiscal year 2019.  The new Board transitioned into the role of leadership immediately, without missing a beat. Staff responded with insight and expertise to guide us through a challenging, yet productive, budget season. Public safety and education will lead in additional funding for FY2020. At the same time, the discretionary budget was reduced to meet revenue projections trending upward in a conservative manner. Our theme of combining customer service and progress is alive and well in the Fiscal Year 2019 accomplishments and the Fiscal year 2020 goals.”
