Board of County Commissioners Approve Acquisition of 747 Northern Avenue

HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 7, 2021) – The Board of County Commissioners approved 5-0 the acquisition of 747 Northern Avenue in Hagerstown for the new Washington County Government Administrative Annex Building. This property acquisition will accommodate the relocation of the Divisions of Permits and Inspections, Engineering, and Planning and Zoning.
 
The Divisions of Permits and Inspections and Engineering currently reside at 80 West Baltimore Street in Hagerstown. This property must be acquired by the Maryland Stadium Authority for the construction of the new Hagerstown Multi-Use Sports and Events Facility. The Division of Planning and Zoning will be relocating from the Administration Building at 100 W Washington Street to provide citizens with one location for all permitting, inspection, planning, and zoning needs.
