Commissioners’ Youth Meritorious Award

Sponsored by the Washington County Office of Grant Management

The Washington County Office of Grant Management is seeking nominees for the Commissioners’ Youth Meritorious Award (YMA).

The YMA winners are chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Scholastic Achievement
  • Leadership Qualities
  • Community Services
  • Other positive characteristics and contributions

If you have contact with a young person with these qualities, please complete the application below. Please keep in mind that those nominated should be well-rounded youth. Thus, if your contact with your nominee is limited to one area of achievement in his or her life, you may need to approach other persons involved with your candidate that can speak to the other areas required for nomination. Consideration will be given to nominees from middle school through high school. Nominations from public schools, private schools, other youth-serving organizations and family and friends will be considered.

Each nominee selected for the YMA will be recognized at a meeting of the County Commissioners.

If you have any questions concerning this award, please contact Richard Lesh at 240-313-2049.
