Through a partnership with PetSmart, Washington County has opened 70 pet waste bag stations at numerous pet-friendly parks across the County. This new partnership will help protect County waterways by reducing the amount of pet waste entering the Conococheague Creek and Antietam Creek Watershed.

A County-wide effort, this project is part of the Antietam Creek Watershed Plan currently underway with help from Washington County Soil Conservation District and other environmental groups on the local, county and state level. This and other on-going initiatives continue to add to the positive quality of life and showcase the work being done to make Washington County an environmentally-conscious, sustainable community.
